What unicorns are you on the lookout for?

You know, guns that are so rare or coveted that you aren't likely to find them but if you do you'll make the stretch to get it.

Right now for me it's a Smith model 27-7 8 shot .357 with no lock.
I think only about a hundred were made.

I only have one gun left on my list,,,

I want to get a S&W Model 45 in .22 LR.

If I find one I can afford that will finish my collection very nicely.

Model 45 (Post Office)
This model is a special purpose K-frame Military & Police Model
chambered for the .22 rimfire. It was designed as a training revolver
for police departments and the U.S. Postal Service. This
model was manufactured in limited quantities between 1948 and
1957. In 1963 production abruptly began and ended again. There
were 500 of these revolvers released on a commercial basis, but
they are rarely encountered.

Only my birthday gun...not just the month and year but the day too! A factory letter attesting to that would help...

Charter Arms Backpacker. I've got an autosearch going on Gunsamerica. Lot of not-backpacker Charter Arms going for sale, and I get to see every one.

Mine was a S&W 1006 10MM, for exactly 3 days, then I found a killer deal on one.

Now it's back to being a short rail CZ 75

My old S&W model 39-2 that was stolen from my home years ago. I carried it on duty until the department changed over to a later generation gun. I bought mine back. Serial number is A705146 Should any of you ever see it.

I would love to find a affordable Colt Python. Affordable is the unicorn part. I just checked gun broker, wow, no unicorns there.

Gen 1 Glock 17. A Gen1 19 would really be a unicorn, but I'm not going to drive myself crazy with looking for that one. I'll take a 17.

S&W Model 45 .22lr, S&W Model 64 (no dash), Spanish Marina .25 auto (don't ask why), correctly marked magazine for Colt .38 ACP 1902 Sporting model.

Randall, Curtis LeMay model (comparable to the Colt Officer's Model/Defender)

I have a Randall Service Model (used to have two, but the story is too sad to tell) and a Randall Raider (Colt Commander Sized). I shoot them regularly and love them and would love to have the trifecta.

I am not n the hunt for the Lef-hand models. I am not THAT OCD. But I passed up on one in the late '80s and have regretted it ever since.
