I don't have the GG, but I do have the standard 1895. My solution was to mount a Weaver V series 1-3x25 (don't quote me on the exact specs of the scope, that's a rough guess, but you can find them on Midwayusa.com) with a one piece DNZ mount. For the kind of shooting I do, I couldn't justify spending another $150 on glow in the dark sights and rails.
I have been extremely pleased with the scope, though the mount is a little bulky. The little weaver is plenty clear, and appears to turn down to a true 1x for "eyes wide open" shooting. It also takes the recoil well, and I've been known to shoot some pretty hot loads through this gun.
The only thing I would change is the mounting system. If I could do it over again, I would try to find a low profile base that would still allow the use of factory iron sights if the scope were removed via quick detach rings. I don't know if such an animal exists, but as it is, if my scope fails, I'm SOL, at least untill I can get to some tools. This would be an advantage with the XS sights system, you just have to decide what it's worth to you. For a multi thousand dollar Alaskan hunt, I'd spend it in a minute, but for a pickup gun that sees 100 shots at the range for every one in the field, it just wasn't worth it to me.
