What to Look out for in a Walther.

I can pick up a like new Walther PPKS in .380ACP $400.

From other threads I need to look out for where it was made?

Anything else I need to look out for?

Yeah, if is says MADE IN USA on the left side of the slide under the Walther banner near the muzzle end stay away from it. Especially if it's stainless steel.

Anything that says "Made in Germany", "Made in W.Germany" or has proof marks on the chamber and the slide is good to go.

Manhurin PP series Walthers are OK too.

American made Walthers are like Faxes. They look like the original but are not.

What would be a fair price for a used PPK/s made in Germany after 1969 ?
say with a condition at least 95%

Does the price differ for .22 vs .380 vs .32 ?

Got any good sources on the 'net since gun shops
around here seem to only stock new guns ?

TIA,
-Mike

Yes, values depend on caliber. This is from Fjestads Blue Book;

In 95%:

PPK/S .22 $550
PPK/S 7.65mm $375
PPK/S 9mm K $495

These are for Walther-marked models.

Manhurin prices:

PPK/S imported '84-'86 95% $275
PPK/S imported resumed in '88, 95% $320

Values reflect number imported and amount manufactured.

PPK's will always be higher since they are banned. Same with the TPH.

These values are two years old. They have increased a bit. I loaned my new copy out. If anyone has current values, please post.
