What to look for in saftey glasses

I generally wear my prescription Oakley sunglasses when shooting, I believe they are safety rated, but, when shooting indoors or at dusk\dawn\overcast days, sunglasses are not beneficial. The optometrists doesn’t have much of a selection of safety glasses. Can someone tell me what to look for in safety glasses, or suggest a good source for prescription glasses. I would probably also use them in my wood shop.

Any good eye wear center should be able to fit you with prescription safety glasses. They generally have to meet the ANSI Z87 standard and this should be marked on the glasses themselves. Beyond that you can get any variety of options including bifocals, tint, removable side shields, etc.
