Recently ended up with a Stevens .22 rifle from my grandfather and a Stevens .410 shotgun from my father.
Both of these are missing most of their finish and have a few spots of rust. They are both bolt-actions with minimal collector's value - not that I would sell them anyway.
They do mean a lot to me though. Should I have them refinished to protect them? I probably won't use the .410 much but the .22 will see some occasional small game hunting (rabbits and squirrels). Does anyone know where I can find some manuals on their care and feeding?
Second, does anyone know where Stevens marks the serial number on their guns?
