What to do with old brass, I do not re-load

I have about 1000 rounds of 9mm, and 500 rounds of .40cal re-loadable brass. Shot once. Is there some who will buy it from me?

Thanks

Probably your local gun store, there is one little guns store near me that buys brass to re-load and rell for pretty cheap.

Before I started reloading I use to take my once-fired brass to gun shows. I never had a problem finding a dealer who would take it on exchange for more ammo, I'd get a credit about equal to what they were charging for once-fired cases. -- Kernel

The local gunshop in my area pays 1 to 3 cents per round for brass, depending on the caliber. The shop then sells it to a commercial reloader. When I tried to sell some 9mm brass a couple of weeks ago, though, I learned that this reloader has so much 9mm on hand that he won't be buying it for a while, and so neither will the shop. I was able to sell my .40s and .45s without a problem, however. The money isn't much, but it's good to get even a little of it back.

Or you could donate it to the needy...

Just send all your loaded, and unloaded brass to me... Any caliber, and we'll see it makes it into the right hands...

Sell it is always the best answer.

If you shoot .22's a lot, you can keep those too and sell the to metal merchants. (It is generally top grade brass and worth money)

I give some of mine to friends who reload and anyone at the range who wants it after I shoot it. Still got a bunch though. I order in bulk by mail order, and it's not really worth shipping back to the dealer.

js_nj--from what the clerk at the gunshop tells me, I only know that the shop sells used brass to a commerical reloader called Rucker in North Texas. This may or may not be Rucker Bullet, Terrell, TX, 972-563-2094.

HTH.

Worst come to worst a scrap dealer in your area should pay you the going rate for Brass per pound.

However it's better to find a small time manufaturer or big time reloader to sell it to...

You might also want to try Scharch Manufacturing, out in Colorado; as
they sell a lot of brass to us that
handload our own ammunition. :D

I think Georgia Arms will give you a good discount on their ammo if you supply them with brass. http://www.georgia-arms.com
