I have been saving this .38+ and .45 ball ammo which i inherited from a korean was buddy who got about then. should I shoot it up at the range? Save it for ....? Is ball ammo something special?
Max ball ammo is good stuff our GI's have been fighting wars with it for 100 years. The term "ball" was carried over from the civil war when they used actual ball ammo. Saw that on the History channel a few months back. Also where the term "rounds" came from.
I read your posts [ on my palm pilot] while at the Range with the Ball ammo in my pouch. So I did, it didnt shoot any diff than the win 158gr semi wad i had along.
Check the headstamps if it is Korean War era. Some ammo from that time used corrosive primers. You can still shoot it but you'll have to clean your gun carefully. Mostly it would be ammo left over from WWII, though match ammo into the 1950's used corrosive primers.
