What to do about "Fuzzy" leather?...

sinecure

A few years ago I had a bunch of leather stored in a closet and it got all moldy with white mold. I cleaned it off, dried it out, used leather dressing on it, and put it in my safe which is GoldenRod protected.

Today, I was rummaging around in the safe and found that my expensive leather is all fuzzy with white mold spots again. My leather camera case molded as well.

Anybody know of any product that will kill leather mold and keep it from growing back? Is there a commercial antifungal [other than spray athlete's-foot medicine:D] compound out there?

I'm certain that the answer is here amongst the assembled multitude at TFL.:)

I don't know the answer to your question, but you might want to E-mail tony Kanaly at miltsparks.com or Greg Kramer (unsure of the web page). Maybe Lou Alessi will chime in here, he drops in on these pages on occasion.

I've de-molded (to coin a phrase) a USN pistol board using a strong water and vinegar mixture. Spong it on, let it set for a bit and then use saddle soap to clean it up. It may take a couple of tries to get it all off.
