I just heard on the radio this morning that if a president and his running mate are from the same state and if they win the state they can't get the states electoral votes. And well they say that Cheney is also from Texas, which I do not know. Anyone know if this holds any merit?

Trump card ?

Cheney is from Wyoming, has lived & worked in TX for the last 5 years, and changed his voter reg back to Wyoming the weekend before Bush gave him the nod. The Dems may be planning to pull this legal card from under the deck, but I don't think it'll fly.

I hope they do complain (seems to me I heard a snippet).

It would only make them look even more ridiculous than they already are - grabbing at straws like that.

The dems claim that Cheney is not a resident of Wyoming. To which I would reply that he is as much a resident of Wyoming as Dick Gephart is a resident of Missouri. Gephart lives in Virginia (?) and uses his late mother's apartment in St. Louis as a mailing address. :barf:

IIRC, the law states that, assuming that both Bush and Cheney were from Texas, the electors from Texas cannot cast their ballots for both Bush and Cheney. (Remember, they vote for President and Vice President separately.) They could indeed vote for Bush for President, but not both Bush and Cheney.

Don't worry about this, though. Cheney is from Wyoming.

What I meant to say that is if he lives in that state. Which he does, but they said that he sold his house and is moving.
