What the heck are these?

These got mixed in with my range brass. 9mm, with an obvious lip inside. The head stamp reads 9mm luger MAXX tech. (The "tech" is really small, may say something else.) Anyway, what are they.

I'm assuming I can NOT reload them in my regular 9mm dies. Let me know if I am wrong about that.

If that's all a reloader had and worked up safe loads, they should still be ok to use.
But with all the other choices, why bother.
Another example why examining brass before loading them is so important.
Thanks for the warning.

They do make good indoor practice rounds if you drill out the flash hole to 3/32" and make plastic or wax slugs and use a small pistol primer with no powder at all. The step keeps the plastic bullets from slipping into the case too far. You can use a cardboard box and a piece of carpet as a bullet stop.
You will have to work the slide by hand - for some reason they don't work the action? ;)

I have seen more than one report of those separating just above the ridge and leaving the resulting ring in the chamber. I ran across a few of them recently and tossed them.

Good information to have . . .

Tailgator:
Thanks that is good information to have. Local range has some Maxxtech in their ammo case. Guess I'll steer clear.
