There is a huge variety of slugs these days to choose from. It pays divedends to get a variety of samples and see which one is the most accurate out of your particular shotgun. Shottys tend to favor a particular brand or style from gun to gun regardless of make and model of that particular shotgun.
Your running a smoothbore so you'll want to stick with rifled slugs or slugs marked for use in smoothbores. That excludes the vast majority of Sabot Slugs.
Brennekes have an excellent reputation for accuracy and knockdown power so I would start there. Get a box of Winchester's flavors and Remingtons and Federals and all the usual suspects and log your results.
That's really the best way to see which one works for your particular shotgun.

Chokes usually used are regular cylinder, improved cylinder and modified. I've heard of people using tighter chokes, but, I personally am not willing to risk it since I can get excellent results with improved and the modified chokes.

Though I haven't been deer hunting - a 1oz 2 3/4" slug is easily effective to 100yards.
And on my end... I didn't see any accuracy differences with my slug rounds - from various manufacturers... I did see MASSIVE differences when using shotshells (#00, etc.).
As for what I decided I liked... I decided the Brenneke KOs (2 3/4" 1oz) are my favorite slug round. Although the Wolf 1oz are fine also, but they are a little under-powered by comparison to the Brenneke KOs.
Course then again, my favorite special use slug, is the 600 grain Brenneke Black Magic (3" magnum)

A couple weeks ago, at my local outdoor range shooting at 50 yards, I didn't hit the "X" at all... instead I hit all around the "X" until the "X" fell out.
I still need a little more practice to make the eyes and smiley face though... I keep ending up with more of a buck-toothed look.
Course, I'm also using a scoped 24" rifled barrel.
My smooth bore is a 18.5" defense barrel - I mostly use with #00 buckshot (at an indoor range) so I haven't practiced all that much with slugs - plus I haven't quite gotten used to the modified height of the after-market stock in relation to the bead sight - regardless, I can easily still make 4" patterns - with the smooth bore on the bead sight (indoor range is only 25 yards though).
