What sights for 1991a1 Commander?

I've got a Colt Series 80 1991a1 Commander that I love...except for the sights. I have trouble seeing the plain black front sight at times. I would like to get a set of 3 dot or Heinie Straight 8 type sights, but I can't find any that will fit my gun. My Commander has a dovetailed rear sight and stake-on front sights. I bought a set of Williams Fire Sights, but when I took them to the gunsmith for installation, the dovetail on the rear sight was too narrow for the cut on my slide! I don't necessarily need tritium sights as this is not a primary carry or defensive gun and I would like to keep costs down. Any suggestions? Thanks. Also, I'd like something that wouldn't require cutting or milling my slide. Thanks again

Sir:
Novak is right - they'll dovetail the front and rear for your lo-mount sights.
My preference are black "ghost-ring" rear and a tritium front with white outline. They are combat fast!

Novak also has the "competition" and "concealed carry" sights that do not require $100 worth of milling machine time to install a gimmick proprietary fixed sight. I don't know about the Williams but I am concerned that a sight listed for a Colt would not fit your Commander.

Most places only charge about $25 for a front cross dovetail and I think that is worth it.

I use the Millet Mark II fixed rear sight which gives the Heine/Bo-mar "type" sight blade. Fits in the existing dovetail.

MGW and Novak also make some that fit existing dovetails.

Thanks. I looked at Novak's site today and there are several models I like. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get your firearm/slide back if you send it in to Novak?

You could have a dot put in your front sight blade and use a King-Tappan rear sight.
The King-Tappan rear sight is one of the best rear sights on the market; it should fit the rear sight dovetail that's in your slide now.
