What should I buy?

I have a dilemma....I will be selling/trading my Glock 30 because I don't really use it and it just sits in my closet. My question is what should I replace it with?

I currently carry a Glock 19 and don't plan on replacing it anytime soon, so a carry piece isn't at the top of my list. The rest of my collection consists of M44 Mosin Nagant, Mossberg 870 in 20 gauge, random blackpowder rifle and a Marlin XS7 in 308.

I've had an assortment of pistols that I have cycled through over the past few years which consisted of a Beretta 92FS INOX (i regret selling that one), Sig Pro 2022, Random taurus revolver in 38 special and a Glock 21.

Now that I've gotten through that what should I buy? I've been all over the place recently trying to decide what gun to buy. I've been entertaining the ideas of:

-Ruger GP100 in 357 magnum
-Ruger Mark II or III
-AK47 variant

I might use the gun as a woods gun, but since I moved to Denver I won't be doing alot of hunting anyway so that might be negligible. I won't be shooting this gun alot but I want something that ammo isn't so expensive that it would deter me from shooting. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I like the GP 100 4' myself. All around great gun. Good for home defense, hunting or just target practice. Ammo is no to expensive here. JMHO.

woods gun, infrequent shooter, i'd go for the gp 100

otherwise since you dont have a 22 in your collection, i'd go for a mk ii/mk iii

the 22's get shot more frequently than the others becuase of cheap ammo, and they are fun..

Definitely a .22 of some sort,,,

Everyone needs at least one .22 handgun,,,
Just so they can afford to go shooting more often.

AK

Everybody should fire off and AK at least once in their lives , and hell if you can shoot it every weekend even better :D

In my opinion there is only would gun you "should" buy.

I have no idea what it is.

I do know that you will know it the moment you see it.

Keep looking, dont buy anything till you find "the one".

Looking for "the one"is 90% of the fun.:D

Thanks for the replies. Your not making my options any easier:). You don't have to stick to my 3 choices, im open for suggestions.

I know looking and fondling is part of thrill and half the battle:D.

I'm familiar with the ruger mark II and the gp100 because my father has both of them. However I don't even know where to start with the AK. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!

Buy something interesting - like a Sphinx AT2000, or a satin stainless CZ75. If you want plastic, maybe an STI GP6.

i personally might opt for a 1911, many varieties to choose from, might even look for a 9mm, there are quite a few of them. the sky's the limit with possibilities there.;)

Ain't tryin' to be an ass, but asking strangers to tell you what kind of gun you need is like having your mom set you up with your cousin for prom. In other words, if you can't find your own girl....stay home.

buck460XVR: I asked other people to see if they had their own experience with certains guns and to offer their own opinion on the matter. You have a much more detailed and factual opinion about a gun if you have previously or currently owned it, compared to the rest of us that just read about it. Thank you everyone for your input!

lebyrn2......again...ain't trying to be an ass, but you didn't ask for pros and cons of any models, you asked this.....
Now that I've gotten through that what should I buy?

Asking this on a gun forum will very seldom give you a objective and informative answer. What it will get you the majority of the time, is folks telling you to buy the gun they themselves own. Most of the time, these same folks have never owned another similar firearm to compare their firearm to.....not a very objective opinion. If you have done your research( most any popular model gun will have a wealth of independent reviews that can easily be found online. They are generally more precise and the guns have seen more rounds under more conditions than the average gun forum poster's gun), handled and fondled said firearms at your LGS many times, know your exact needs and what you can afford, you don't need to ask others to make the decision for you. If you just have money burning a hole in your pocket and need assistance in spending it, I generally suggest to folks that maybe they should save it till they really know what they need/want. Just to buy a gun to buy a gun, IMHO, is similar to the prom date thingy. Yep...you have one, but why?

BTW...can you post a pic of your Mossberg 870 in 20 gauge? I've never seen one.
