What Should I Ask For This Model 36?

Was my Dad's. At least 30 Years Old Model 36 (no dash). Appears to have been refinished. Pack grips. A little holster wear. Great little shooter. Zero rust.

What Should I ask?

Later,

I'd keep it, but I'm sure you have a reason for selling or trading. Right off the top of my head (no blue books) $300 to $350.

I recently purchased this very lightly used one for $400, and nickle usually will bring a few bucks more...

You don't mention if it's a factory refinish or not but based on the fact that it's got visible wear on a refinish and after market grips I'd think somewhere around $250 with the holster if the lock up and bore are good. Even as a no dash it has virtually no collector value. Nice revo though.

If it was your dad's, you will probably regret selling it, especially since cash wise it is not worth that much and it is a good shooter. Don't sell it.

I agree with the keep it. It has more sentimental value than actual value (I'd go around $250 tops).

I don't know you're reasoning for selling it but if you can, sell something else.

(blush) My reason for going low is the reblue with wear, replacement grips and the lack of color case hardening CCH on the hammer and trigger. The holster is worth $5.00 to most shops. If it is a S&W/G&G holster, a collector might go higher.

And even if it has no sentimental value because you didn't like your dad, Keep it anyway! Every one should have one of those and you eventully wish you still had it.

Hmmm. Thanks guys. Probably won't sell it now out of guilt, even though my Dad wouldn't care and is in fact liquidating his firearms. The sentimental gun he's giving me is an old automatic Sears .22 rifle. I did just get my first (or second) Smithy, a model 640-3. Sweet piece, and I'm surprised how carryable it is in my pocket instead of my Glock 26.

I guess I should hold out for another of his barely used service pieces....his 3" model 65...8-).

Later,
