What 's goin' on with Sig Pro 2340's?

Davidson's still has a bunch in stock. Why aren't they selling? Anybody have any experience with them? Reliability? Any imput will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, J. Parker

I just saw one in a local shop. Felt very top heavy to me. Maybe that's part of the reason. Then, it may just be me too.

I have one in .40 cal and just got a .357 Sig barell for it. Its a great gun not one jam in about 600 rounds very accurate too.
Might be a little heavy for CCW but I do not.

They're selling fine. They don't sell as well as SIG Sauer's Classic line, however.

It takes a while for a new design to gain wide acceptance. The sig pro is no different. It's slowly but surely gaining major LE contracts, a must for pistols to sell well in the US. The DEA contracts was a big plus. It lost out the Illinois State Police deal to Glock because of a lower bid.

So many pistols, so little money.

Main problem is comparison against the glock (which I would use to move manure around my stable at best). Slightly top heavy indeed but get past the feel and it is a class A1 firearm.

Siggy, you can't push manure with a Glock..no external safety.

I like the ergonomics of my Sig Pro in .40, but I have never warmed up to the DA/SA trigger. I like the Glock and P7M8 triggers. Of course, that would not explain the relative lack of zeal compared to other Sigs. I'm lucky, I don't keep manure local, so my Glocks are safe!

I nearly got one 2 weeks ago but opted for the 229 instead because it had a better "feel" and "look". The SigPro is a bit bulky for small handed shooters. The frame is wide and to me, doesn't seem much like a "show-off" gun. But then it offers the performance expected from the Sig line and cost $100-$200 less than the 229 so why not? :D

Just put one on lay-away yesterday (aint America great) Got to shoot 100 rounds through it. One word SWEET. Love the trigger and it points very naturaly for me. Trigger is better than anything I've shot (Taurus 99, Kel-tec 9mm, S&W 696).

Cant wait to go back and shoot it again.

Peace...
Keith

Thanks everyone..I knew they were good guns but just had to be sure. I read some negative posts in the past but I feel better now. Best Regards, J. Parker

When the Sigpro first came out, the ones I tried were accurate and reliable just like a P-series, but the trigger wasn't as good. The ones I see now have really sweet triggers on them. I think they've worked the bugs out.

I don't own a sig pro but my roomate does and he loves his. I also want one after shooting his. Finally a sig that you don't have to worry about the frame cracking on. They are nicer than the 229 that I have owned. I would recomend them in a minute.

I intend to go into harms way.

The sigpro is a really nice medium sized pistol. It might not have the cool takedown lever of the classic sigs, but it will hold up a heck of a lot longer. And it's at least as accurate as the P229; I've had both pistols and hold to this statement. The SIG's also have very good chamber support.

Most polymer guns are a bit top heavy by the way. You just get used to it :)
