hello all.
I'm trying to compile a list of all rilfes that are chambered in 30 Tokarev. At one point not so long ago 7.62x25 was the cheapest centerfire round out there. Even though prices are now neck and neck with 9mm I am still clinging to hope that it'll go back down and am thinking about picking up a 30 TOK firearm of some sort. Anyone out there know of any guns that use it besides the CZ52s?

As far as what rifles you're likely to find commercially available here in the US, there's only 3 that I can think of that fire 7.62x25 (although one comes from 3 or so different manufacturers).

1. There are the various semi-auto PPSh-41 copies. Some of these are better than others in terms of quality control and reliability, but they're all pretty expensive, some are said to be absolute junk. They are all either mostly or exclusively made here in the states by minor manufacturers and don't seem to have the reliability of the original weapons. The barrels are made to be of legal length (around 6 inches longer than an actual PPSh-41 SMG), these seems to add a fair amount of weight, and adversely affects the balance. Also makes it uglier.

2. There's is the PPS-43 copy, also with a much longer barrel (makes it goofy looking) and semi-auto only. The mechanics of these are quite distinct from the original, the semi-auto version is hammer-fired and fires from a closed bolt, the original had the firing pin milled into the bolt and was considerably simpler.

3. Lastly, there's the Sterling semi-auto carbine. Don't really know much about these, other than they're probably the most affordable of the bunch.
