Hey guys I'm looking for a little spotting scope to use on the indoor range. When I'm shooting from like 10 yards to 25 yards with a .22 I have a really hard time seeing the holes :D I'm looking at either a brunton 7x18 or an alpen 10x25. I'm thinking the 7x would be plenty and in fact might even be too strong for such a short distance. Any thoughts?

At that short of distance...

The power rating means a lot less than pupil lense size...

8x binoculars is the way to go... and make sure the pupil lenses are large...

They can be mounted on a camera tri-pod... :)

25yds? Is this an indoor or outdoor range? At my indoor range, I just hit the switch on the wall and bring the target back in front of my nose. For outdoor short-range shooting, I just use my 8x20 binoculars. For longer ranges, I set the 11x80 astronomical (both in intended use and price) up on a camera tripod. Good for at least 100yds. If you have a variable scope, say 3-9x, just crank it up, and you should be good.
