What pistol brands or models have the same compatible dovetail?

Springfield and Sig Sauer?
Glock and H&K?
What about FN?

CZ and some of their clones as far as different brands go off he top of my head. Not sure about any other different brand crossovers.

I don't think HK and Glock use the same dovetail.

To add to the confusion, replacement sights might require their own dovetail size and shape.

That's a really, really, really vague question. Even the same model can have different sights depending on the year produced or variation of the model.

In the "1911" world, there are, for fixed sights, essentially two standards, the original G.I./Colt dovetail, and the Novak low-mount dovetail.

For adjustable sights, while there are adjustables that will fit both of the fixed-sight dovetails, the most common for "target" style sights are Bo-Mar and LPA.

Probably 99% of the 1911s on the market, across all brands, have one of those four rear sight dovetails.
