What NRA instructor clases needed to teach the CCW permit class in FL.

Hello all, Great site. I'm am interested in becoming a NRA instructor able to teach the CCW permit class in FLORIDA. I have visited every NRA site I can find but still can not glean what Specific courses I would have to take. Does anyone KNOW what courses I would have to register for to be able teach the NRA CCW permit class in Florida? Thanks.

The NRA does not certify any "CCW" class, for any state. Most states that require training as a prerequisite to issuance of a license or permit (including Florida) require proof of training in "firearms safety." The NRA Basic Pistol class is the one that is more universally accepted.

Howebver, just taking that class won't certify you to teach it. To become an NRA-certified instructor, you have to take a class under an NRA training counselor, and in the course of that he evaluates not only your lnowledge of the subject matter for that course but also your ability to teach it cogently.

You should be able to find a list of NRA training counselors in your area on the NRA web site.
