What Model is this Smith ?

Ok i was just wondering what .44 That Seth on From Dusk Till Dawn had.

I have been wondering this since i seen the move the first day it came out and it is probably easy but im kinda revolver stupid

I know it isnt stainless but blue i think it has a frame mounted firing pin and what i believe to 3 1/2 in barrel.

When did they start to make smith's with frame mounted firing pins (i know its probably has been asked before but).

The only reason that i ask is because i have been looking for a smith .44 with shorter than a 4" barrel and i dont have the money right now for a PC.I know it can only be a 29 or 629 but being that im new to revolvers for some reason the frame mounted firing pin threw me off.

I have not seen the movie in a year or so but i think it was an Astra Terminator. Astra built them in the mid-late 80s. Bacially their big frame .44mag with a 3 inch barrel and a round butt.

I will try to find my tape of the movie and check it out.

Don't feel bad.

Astras DO look like Smiths.

Astra was one of those companies that did a booming trade in the 1920s by making unlicensed knock-off copies of S&W revolvers.

Theirs were, at least, a step above the general quality level of terrible.
