What manufacturer has the best gas system?

Of all the manufacturers of auto-loading shotguns, who has the most reliable (feeding light 2.75" to heavy 3" loads reliably) system, and the fastest cycling? These may be two different answers - probably will be. Does anyone know?
 
I was thinking Berreta 390/391 sereis. I have not shot a Winchester though.

edited to add: Actually, now that I think about it, I am not even sure if the 390/391 series will shoot both 2 3/4 & 3"ers.

The Super X2 is what your describing. :) I have light 7/8oz to 1 1/2oz loads loaded up and it shoots them all. I haven't ran a lot of 3in shells but it cycles them perfectly also. Just for S&G's I wanted to see how fast it will cycle and my shooting buddy's couldn't belive I just shot 5 rounds that fast. :D
 
Call me old fashioned, but I like the 1100/11-87 series Remington autoloaders. I have never had problems, but it is nice to know I can correct any that might arise, as the system is simple.

FirstFreedom. Benelli does not use a gas system, they use an inertial operating system. In my experience the Benelli is not as reliable as a quality gas gun like the SuperX2, Beretta 390/391, or even the old trusty Remington 1100. I have owned several of each, so it isn't like I am guessing.
 
This is a very objective question, but in my opinion, if you are looking for the best looking, softest shooting, most accurate, most reliable gas operated shotgun out there, choose the Beretta 391.

Here's my two cents. I'd go with the Super X2/Browning Gold IF I cleaned my gun after each shooting session. The Beretta has been more reliable for me when I neglect cleaning it. The Benelli has been the most reliable of all but since it is not a gas system it kicks like a mule.

I´ve Owned Several Shotguns And Recall Beretta 391 The Best Of The Gas System Shotguns.

I Can´t Imagine Buying A Seminole 391 Urika. (almost A Wet Dream).

My Benelli Works Great (+1500 Shells Through It And No Malfunctions. Yet.).

M4 is the fastest cycling shotgun there is (recoil/gas hybrid).

391 is one of the softest shooting clay guns there is. and it shoots 2-3/4 and 3". True ther eis more to it than other gas guns, but I know plenty of SC shooters who carry a can a break free with them and when it starts jaming, they just spray it in the action, let it drip dry and go back to shooting.

But this is all moot. What fits you the best? You cna save money and get the SX2 but if you have to spend $300+ to have it fit to you where the 391 already fits you, is it really cheaper?
 
At a gun store yesterday I noticed that Beretta now has a 392 model!

In my experience Sporting Clays shooters flock to the Berettas, but this is probably herd mentality. They jam up just like a mossberg :D
 
I have to agree with HSMITH above.
SX2 gets my top vote - 'course I'm biased, right partial to the SX1 :)
Beretta 390/ 391 , then again the 302/303 was reliable.
Gimme a 1100 in Rem offering anyday over a 11-87.

I have a Rem 1187. It has been a superb weapon for hunting, trap and skeet for me. I have also shot my uncles Browning semi-auto.(I don't know what model it was.) The browning was a great gun also! He had a Rem 1100 before that. The only problem with the 1100 was, it was chambered for 3 inch. If you shot a trap, or dove and quail load, it would not eject it! My 1187 is chambered for 3 inch. I have never had that problem with it. I believe they fixed that in that model. My only other suggestion would be to keep the gun clean and keep a few extra O rings with you just in case!
