What magazine extension w/20" bbl....7 or 8?

For a 20 inch 870: is the tac star 8-round extension too long? Thanks! TCW

My deer 870 has a 20 inch bbl and a two round extension that sticks out a skosh past the muzzle.

7-rd extensions fit an 18" barrel and 8-rd ones fit 20" barrels nicely. Actually, you may use any sized extension you wish--only, those which project past the end of the barrel look funky!

Right. For maximum extenstions that do not go past the muzzle, use the +2 ("7 round") for 18 inch barrels, and the +3 ("8 round") for 20 inch barrels. Bear in mind of course that the number of rounds includes one in the chamber.

Does any one know what kind of finish the Tac Star extentions have?
