What kind of metals / alloys can get NP3+ ?

Robar's website says it will work on "steel, stainless steel and aluminum".

GREAT COMPANY. HAVE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS. THE NP3 IS MY HANDS-DOWN FAVORITE FINISH. HOWEVER, ROBAR WILL NOT PLATE SPRINGS (coil / flat) AND ANY PARTS MADE OF TITANIUM. READ THEIR WEBSITE AS IT DETAILS VERY CLEARLY WHAT THEY WILL & WILL NOT PLATE.

Their statement that they won't plate "Scandium" is puzzling since "Scandium" guns are simply aluminum that is alloyed with a very small amount (I believe it's less than 1%) of scandium. Then again I'm not a metallurgist--maybe it makes enough of a difference that it won't plate...
Their FAQ seemes to contradict itself uless I'm reading it wrong:
It is also suitable for titanium or scandium framed pistols as well as aluminum alloy framed pistols.
What metals can NP3 and Roguard be applied to?
NP3 and Roguard will adhere to aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. We cannot apply finishes to Titanium, Scandium or 'pot metal'. Previously plated surfaces like nickel, hard chrome or anodizing must be stripped prior to plating.

I agree with you--the wording does sound conflicting. Suggest you contact customer service @ robar & speak with someone who deals with customer questions daily. Robar is really a great bunch of folks to deal with & their plating work is superb.
