What is your style in carrying your CCW in defensive mode?

The question seems common but I just want to know some from those having CCW how do they carry.

I believe that there is also danger in having CCW if some BG can spot it (just in case) and forcely take it from you by surprise and use it to hurt or kill you (God forbid).

I saw some people having CCW that they carry their pistol empty and their magazine is just placed in any of their pant or Jacket pockets. Thinking that if in case it will be grabbed by any BG then they cannot use it simultaneously to shoot the carrier.

The Observer; When I carry it's either a IWB holster just behind the right hip or my fanny pack. Where I live now I don't seem to carry as much as I did before. I don't have a problem with "Mexican carry" either(carrying the pistol in the waistband) as long as it's not a Glock or a 1911 with the safety off! If I carry a pistol I would NEVER have the clip in a separate pocket or something like that. Defeats the whole purpose. Best Regards, J. Parker

Normally I carry my cocked and locked 1911A1 in an IWB holster. with a un bloused shirt. (Normal attire for me) Occasionaly I'll carry my SP101 "mexican style" if out in shorts and t-shirt.

THe best defense in keeping the BG from your weapon is to always be in condition yellow whether carrying or not.. My .02 worth

686 or 696 snubbies behind either (or both) hip point, outside. Sometimes mod 36 in pocket holster, front either side. Wear large shirt tail out, suit coat, or tux jacket, all tailored to drape well over the weapon/s. Any handgun on me is ready to fire when trigger squeezed.

Sam...anybody here shoot the front bar of their walker?

I carry a Glock 29 IWB behind my hip. Most of the time it is covered by a t-shirt and unbuttoned lightweight shirt.

C.R. Sam, I love those signatures.

USP40, Talon Plus IWB strong side over rear pocket. Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock ;)
It's a little big to conceal with a T-shirt, but an un-tucked button-down shirt or light jacket is fine.

Occasionally (very occasionally) carry a spare mag in an Alessi clip-on mag carrier.

I might be carrying, or I might not. Just try to do me or my wife harm, and you will find out for sure real quick. ;)

I'm old and deceitful.

I usually carry my USP9c in a Galco pancake holster on my right hip, safety off with a round chambered.

IMHO, any uncomfortable feelings regarding carrying with a round chamered can be alieviated by the well proven triad, "practice practice practice".

Be safe.

NRA? Good. Now join the GOA!

The NRA is our shield, the GOA will be our sword.

Carry all the time, except at work.

In Condition 1 = Point-N-Squeeze.

Use a Galco on the hip, strong side.

My method to counter against BG disarming me is as follows. The moment I see someone (man or woman -- never underestimate people) that could remotely be a treat, I turn my body, or repostion myself, so that the BG is facing my weak side. In other words, my body and my weak arm is between the BG and my pistol. This hopefully will leave my strong side arm free to present my firearm from my strong side holster. I feel secure with this method.

G27 in Alessi ankle holster. Due to warm climate and work attire, this has proven to be by far the best method for me. I spend alot of time sitting behind desk or in car. This method allows decent draw from these positions.

S&W 642 with a Barami hip grip and a Tyler-T grip adapter. Carry it tucked inside my waistband just behind my hip.

In a holster on my belt, or IWB, or if I'm feeling anxious, in my hand...all my carry guns are fully loaded with a live round in the chamber.

Always condition 1, and always in a holster, which is either a strong side galco or bianchi, or an IWB holster.

Never just tucked in the pants.

Strongside, behind the hip - Glock 26 in Galco belt slide or Browning Hi-Power in Sparks VM-2. Benchmade clip-folder on weak side. Always carry in condition one.

With this method I can use my strong hand/elbow for retention and use my weak hand to cut the BG off the gun if necessary.
