What is your Favorite Hi Power Clone (make and model)?

Not a fan of the BHP clones I personally like the FN and Browning versions and there are enough of them out there at good prices I have never gotten a clone but if I had to pick one it would be a FM Dectective.

I'll second that. Saw and shot one at my local range a couple of years ago. Sort of like a Commander is to a 1911. Sweet package, balances perfectly in my hand.

My two favorite clones are an Israeli Kareen (probably made using FEG components), and a 1973 version Argentine milsurp. All the Argy HPs I've had had excellent triggers.

I like FEG made in Hungary and Israeli surplus

early production PJK-9HP with wooden grips and original style slide release

I haven't got a lot of experience with them, but I have always like the way the Hi-Power looks and feels. Just didn't want to put out the money to buy a Browning one.

I did have a FEG at one time, but had to sell it during a time of "economic downturn." I only shot it a few times, but it did shoot well.

A week or so ago I put a FM on layaway. Looks pretty much like new, so I'm sure it's a refinish. I don't know a lot about them other than that it was made in Argentina.

Crappy cell phone shot.

Those look like original grips and finish on the Argy. It is a post-license, commercial pistol, without the front cut-outs. Mine had an excellent trigger.

I traded for an FM Detective and had it about four days before a friend of mine decided he had to have it since he collects them. Mine made four for him. I sure wish I had kept it though. Sweet gun.

I've got a Charles Daly Hi Power, they were made here in the states from FEG components by a couple of different companies, Magnum Research made mine. It's a surprisingly nice gun, great shooter, very reliable and accurate, built to spec so replacement parts fit.

I took out the mag disconnect, which did wonders for the trigger pull. Also, because Hi Powers bite the web of my hand, I installed a C&S No Bite Hammer which works exactly as advertised. I replaced the fat rubber grips with a set of Navidrex thin grips. I'd buy another one of these guns if I ran across the right deal.
