What is with my shotgun?

I have a Winchester 1300 I bought from Wal-Mart last July, for $199. It came with a 22", cylinder bore barrel, cheapwood furniture, rifle sights, 4+1 capacity, 3" chamber, and is drilled and tapped.

I bought magazine extensions from cheaper than dirt. They didn't fit. They didn't match the threading on the magazine tube.

I bought a Pachmayer pistol grip. It fit, but my friend had to re-thread the screw.

The accessories I bought were all marked "Winchester 1200/1300". Any thoughts as to why they didn't fit my shotgun? Could I have a different model? Seems outlandish that Winchester would make a differently threaded model for sales in Wal-Mart...

If I could get a magazine tube extension, I could get it configured just as I like it. I don't like the safety, still (being left handed), and I wish you could engage the safety without having a round in the chamber (after my ND, I'm still nervous about keeping it loaded).

Thoughts? I bought this scattergun for $200. It's worked fine for me.

Unfortunate about the mag extension...

However, I don't see anything wrong with the gun. The barrel is fine for general purpose, but you've been around here a while, so I know you've heard all about the GP shotguns. I bought an 870 for $199 (used) a month ago. It was similarly equipped to yours, except it had a 20" bbl with a rifled choke tube. I put on an 8 round extension, and the gun feels slower to swing. I think the gun handled well with the 4+1 stock setup. that's why I'm glad I have another 870 that I can keep stock. ;)

I've scoured the net, and came up empty. Could it be an extreme coincidence of not getting what you ordered? Do you have an 870 to try the mag extension on?

The magazine tube extensions (and I tried two of them) were ATI and marked "Winchester 1300".

the Pachmayer grip fits the gun, but the screw did not fit the threading.

*shrug*
