What is up with this????

"This is a Beautiful Winchester Model 42, Special Edition HIGH GRADE, one of only 850 manufactured in 1993. Special Serial Number WTF 156..... 410 ga., 26" barrel, Full choke. This gun has NEVER been assembled."

Looks like a good deal to me. Nothing like a beautiful Model 42. To each their own.

I don't think that's a 'pressed wood' stock either.

I haven't seen too many guns with that nice of figured walnut on them, short of a custom shop. I did not see any baked on finish either, the seller describes the gun as still having original packing grease on the metal parts though. That was a very good price for the gun, as many older more worn M42's go for the same money if not more.

But the stock doesn't look finished. It just looks flat. The mag tube doesn't look blued from the picture, it looks like some cheap finish. I was looking at some pricey shotguns at Scheels the other day and just was NOT impressed.

I'm not sure what you mean by not finished...it looks like a well sealed, beautiful low-sheen hand rubbed finish to me. Do you mean it doesn't look like high-gloss urethane?

Not to mention that Model 42 Winchesters are very desirable guns. This gun is Winchester made and not a Japanese copy. Stock is high grade wood and looks like oil finished. Gold trim and apparent NIB shape add to the value.

Nice gun, model has cult value.

Shweet...

If the choices or either trash or treasure here, that shotty goes in the treasure pile. I don't think that the photos do it justice.
