I am afflicted with the same disease.
My wife who is a physician as named it RGS or restless gun syndrome. It strikes me just after I've broken in a new gun or I have familiarized myself with a gun I took in on a trade.
At this point I haven't done enough research to determine if it is a virus that freely spreads among the general population or whether it is bacterial, that you pickup at a shooting range from shooting someone else gun.
I supposed under normal circumstances it would propagate quickly and trigger the need for more firearms. But it possible that it can lay dormant for years and quickly become active by some unknown trigger ( no pun intended).
Since so little is known I propose we need establish a special exploratory group called the RGS Research Group, we'll need to apply for tax exempt status and then proceed to seek funding from the federal government.
I am nominating myself as President and Lead Researcher and I am accepting application for Officer position. Please post your resumes here. By the way, I think we should also look for sponsors.
