What is this case???

To those experts,, can you guess what this case is, for size comparison the loaded case is a 30-06.
One TRILLION dollars to the person that guess it first? (Getting the money might be another thing.) :D

30-30 remchester,,,, YOU ARE THE WINNER!!!!!!!!!
I could say something like “A friend of mine told me of this problem,,,,,”
But I’m not a liar. And when I am stupid I’m not afraid to say so. A friend came over and wanted to go shooting, so I packed up several guns, 03-A3, several 5.56 and my Ishapore 2A1 rifle in 308.
I am a very careful person when it comes to guns and have been reloading for over 30 years. I put all of my reloads in Tupperware containers and they are marked with type caliber, bullet type, powder charge and with a ballistic table.
In those 30 years I have never,,,, well to make a STUPID story short.
I picked up the 03-A3 and picked up a couple of 06’s and one in the chamber and it fired a little light. Pulled back the bolt and the extractor came off the case and not having a rod with me I was done.
So I picked up my Ishapore and noticed what my problem really was,,,, it’s spelled “STUPID!”
Luckily the rounds I was working up for the Ishapore were light reduced loads so I don’t think I damaged the gun, but I did sever damage to my pride.
I wanted to share this with you not so much to make myself look stupid (which I am) but to say that no matter how long or how many we put down range,,, we really need to keep our heads out, and you know where I am talking.

And to answer your question Willie Lowman I do,,,, but since I’m not bald,,,(Just getting there) I can’t be mister evil.
But with a vacant look on my face,,,, I AM MISTER STUPID!

Over many decades of being a range officer I have seen many fired cases that have been fired in larger chambers. Now I have a real problem. How to spend a trillion dollars. I better get onto EBAY and start looking.

30-30remchester: What to buy...hmmm...Glock? Colt? S&W?

Yeah, buy those three COMPANIES and get 'em to make or bring back the guns you want.

new cartridge

You have invented a new wildcat...........the .30 No-Neck!

There is a public outdoor range not far from my home, I shoot there some, and scavenge brass often.

I've picked up a number of similar items. The most common offenders seem to be the .300 mags. A .300 Win mag in a Weatherby chamber results in the .3oo Short Neck.
