What is this cartridge?

My wonderful wife, knowing I like to reload, spotted some empty brass at a garage sale, and picked it up for me. Most of it was 30–06, 30–30, and a few random pistol rounds. Mixed in were about 50 cartridges I can't identify...

They look to be about the size of a 223 with the neck cut off. Head stamps include WRA 52, RA 51, LC 51, and WCL 45.

Ideas?

I think I have a box of WRA 52 head stamped 30 Carbine rounds around here some where and they would look about like you describe.

Deja vu is correct, what you have are .30 Carbine rounds. The numbers would correspond to what year they were originally manufactured. 52=1952 etc.

You sure that your one headstamp actually reads WCL?
