I'm looking for a belt holster for my S&W Model 38 2" Airweight(shrouded hammer) that is comfortable to wear. One that I won't notice too much and will not dig into my side.
Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Mike

I recently purchased a Kramer Leather Belt Scarbard holster (forward tilt) for my S&W 442. It conceals nicely and is reasonably comfortable. I only wear it with jeans. When I'm wearing shorts I usually wear a soft IWB holster.

The craftsmanship of the Kramer holster is the best I have ever seen. They can be found on the WWW at www.kramerleather.com

A BS-2 from M/D Enterprises or a BSU from Alessi would do nicely. There seems to be more to a BSU, but I think the BS-2 might ride a little higher.

I use a clip draw for my J frame.Go to www.clipdraw.com and take a look.I like the system.

Not sure if the Fobus paddle holster falls into the "belt" category, but it's very comfortable and works well with my S&W M38-2. Not bad for $15 either.

I agree with Fobus recommendation. The J-frame paddle is very comfortable. Their literature says that a belt holster of similar design is available, but I've not yet seen one. Have several Blade Tech holsters which are excellent (and expensive). Took me a while to try the Fobus because it looked to "cheap" to be good. Wrong!! It is terrific. I have several Fobus paddles for different handguns. For $22 bucks or so, you can't go wrong.

I love my El Paso Saddlery Combat 88. For me, it carries my j-frames very close, providing excellent concealment, without digging into my soft, tender hide. It has a slight forward cant, allowing me to wear it just a little forward of my hip. This is very comfortable, fast, and doesn't allow the gunbutt to buldge while bending over.
