What is the flagship of your handgun collection?

I'll have to say my first year of production S&W .44 Magnum, at least till I get something better.:)

The Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum is one of the best looking sixguns ever produced. All of the .44 Hand Ejectors and the .357 Magnum are very attractive revolvers, however the addition of the heavier barrel and cylinder to the 1950 Target to increase weight resulted in beautifully flowing lines and a classic look rivaled only by the Colt Single Action Army. -John Taffin

I like this pic of it lying on Elmer Keith's review of the then new S&W .44 Magnum, that he wrote in 1957. The article was published in the 1958 Gun Digest.

My first thought was of my HK USP Elite. It has hand fitted parts, it is robust, easily the most accurate centerfire I own and I think the most expensive. I usually buy cheap, used guns, so this one stands out. But then ...

When I went to get a picture of the Elite, there I find the Colt Woodsman picture is right next to the Elite and I think...flagship, hmmmm. The CWMT is a true American classic and official Joint-Flagship gun of my collection.;)

Mine is a Python Hunter that I bought brand new in 1982 but have still never fired. It's the one in the Halliburton case and cartridge box and accessories, and it came with a Leopold scope mounted on it.

The problem is, the foam itself in the case is starting to disintegrate. Looking for a way to replace it.

Well for auto loaders it would be my Novak Hi-Power,

In wheelguns it would either be my 3" "Combat" Python or a Pristine S&W 19 made in the first 6 months of production.

You have a 1955 Combat Magnum!?

Do you have the original black case with Combat Magnum embossed on the front?

Please post a pick, those things are as rare as hens teeth, I've never even seen a pic of the black case in a book.

I've wanted one for along time, the closest I got was my 1959 Model 19 no dash.

Please post a pic so I can marvel at it.:)

My Colt Mark IV. My flagship because I turned it from a reliable but mediocre shooter into the single most accurate auto I have in preperation for IPSC and pin shoots. Still could use a few parts, but could not be better, function-wise IMO. Probably will always be my favorite.

This is a hard one. But if I have to narrow it down to one pistol/revolver I'd have to say its my Smith Model 52 38 WC gun. Smoothest pistol I have ever seen. I think its the cadilac of pistols.

I suppose it's my glock 17 with the TLR-1 on it even though it doesn't really stand out above the others in my mind. because of the light and the proven reliability it's my go-to pistol. at least until I get myself a railed 1911...:D
