What is the best GLOCK for CC?

This may have been beat to death already and if so please excuse me.. I am going to get a Glock shortly, I've wanted one for some time but have not had the funds to do it, anyway, what model can some of you guys who carry the Glock on a regular basis recommend? I like the .45 round but am not limited to that, if the 9mm carries better I'd look at it. I probably have one month to go before my concealed carry permit comes back and I can carry legally. Thanks in advance guys, great site:)

Glock for CC

The Glock 26 is accurate, reliable and light. It is most comfortable when used in a holster outside the belt. I use the Federal 9BP cartridge.

I feel the 19/23 models to be the best balance of all aspects of concealed carry but require a modicum of effort to conceal.

G30!!! C'mon, 10 rounds of .45ACP in an almost G19 size platform!!! It's a no brainer. If you want to carry a Glock, then the G30 is the way to go. Notice I said Glock. I personally carry the Walther P99, but my ONLY .45 is the G30!!! Yes, I do carry it!!!!!! Hand cannons do have their place. ;)

G26 for 11 rounds of 9x19mm or G27 for 10 rounds of 40S&W. They are identical in size. I have been told that the 45ACP version is slightly larger.

The G30 is a fine and very popular .45 carry pistol, but it's definitely wider, taller and heavier than a G26 or G27. The width is actually the factor which bothers me personally the most; I never could get used to the blockiness of the slide compared to the much slimmer G26.

The best possible frame size out of Glock is the Glock 19/23, in my opinion. They're small enough to conceal well, yet big enough for a full grip, with enough barrel length and sight radius to be useful as a competition gun as well. It has accessory rails and can be adorned with lights and other doodads, and it's great to carry IWB because it's relatively slim.

I've got a G26, 10+1 rounds of 9mm. She's light, small, and easily concealed, though she is a bit on the fat side.

However, once I'm a better shot, I'll probably move to a G36. Roughly the same outer dimensions as the 26, but in the harder hitting .45 chamber instead of 9mm. The big drawback is that the 36 holds only 6+1 rounds, which means it's not the gun for folks who want lotsa rounds instantly available.

CCW

For strictly CCW , I think the G26 & G27 are the best choices. The are the smallest (length) Glocks, and very light. You also have an option to put magazine grip extenders (Pierce or Shrere sp?) if the short grip bothers you.

This depends on what you shoot better or what you are use to. The purpose of Concealed Carry is not to conceal but to have a gun available in case of emergency.
The most important factor is can you shoot it well. After that you move to how concealable is it, or what options do I have for concealment.

I carry a G30 daily and have no problem. I shoot a 45ACP well and don't like the harsh recoil of the G27.
I carry in one of 3 rigs. Belt slide in cool to cold weather, bellyband when it's warm, and waist pack when it's hot.

If deep concealment (tucked in shirt IWB or ankle rig) is the only option, I would go with the G27.

I'm not a fan of the 9mm so that wouldn't be and option for me.

I've got a g27 and a g26. They are great little hide away guns. In the summer smaller is better for me. They are suprisingly accurate also. The 27 is 40. cal. and the 26 is 9mm. I haven't shot the 45. cal. glocks, but I've handled the 30 and the 36 in the stores. I think I would go with the 30 for more rounds. If some is good, more is beter! One other gun that I bought with concieled carry in mind was my beretta 9000s. It is a nice gun, but it is harder to hide because of the width.

I never have posted here before so bear with me. I really like the feel of the 36, but in all fairness the 26/27's are probably a little more concealable. When you go and pick them up if you decide you don't like to wrap your pinky and you are going to get an extension, don't. Take a hard long look at the 19/23. I don't think you can go wrong with a glock.

I just went thru the BIG decision myself and I chose the 27. It is 10 rds of .40 and the recoil is IMO not bad at all. It carrys well in my back pocket with my shirt tail out or IWB . I also feel it is easy to hit with and the trigger is as good as any glock I ever tried. I haven't carried my CDP ultra since I picked up the Glock. It is more comfortable to tote. I don't feel under powered with 10 rds of .40 compared to 7 of .45

My first choice is the G 20 and the g 29 if I need a little more concealment. I also have a G 23 and a G 27 but am more comfortable with the 10 mm and, thus, I guess, shoot the 10 mm guns better. Pretty much a personal thing, though. My wife prefers revolvers and shoots them well.
YMMV

Here's another vote for the 26 and 27,

as they are darn near perfect in every aspect,
for CCW purpose's. But, they are not "pocket
guns"; by far way to large for trousers front
or rear pocket's.

I carry my Glock 27 in my front pocket. It all depends how your pants fit you.

Thats easy, the 27!

Carry one every day with shorts and a T and have no problem. All that and some serious power.

I carry a Glock 17 with a 17 round mag in con 3 in my back pocket. In my front pocket, I have another 17 round mag watiing for it's turn. :)
