What is the best fanny pack on the market?

Wilson. (It's my only.) Leather, got it from my grown son in trade. Mostly because it has a protected hard case for glasses on the front. (I only need glasses if I want to see, but here in the land of 9 months of tee shirt weather, I need something to carry them.)Along with pen, checkbook, smokes and all those other things that would go in shirt pockets.

For all you CCW folks that think fanny packs are a signature for CCW - keep in mind that there are a lot of us old geezers that think they are the handiest things since soft butter for fresh bread. And we don't (always) use them for carry.

For CCWs it is not all that good. Only for very small arms - J frame, PPK at best. However, it would serve to disguise any printing inherent with other carry modes.

Blackhawk. Great design (and colours other than black, so it doesn't have to scream GUN!), durable, and fast. Different sizes, so you can go from a J-frame to a full size autoloader without problem. I don't use it much, but my wife does when she walks the dogs without me.

Try GearedUp! (supporters of TFL) at www.geared-up.com .

The pack itself is at www.geared-up.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=356 .

I have to toss in my vote for Galco. Specificaly, the size for small pistols(also in J-frame format). I am told that they stopped making all colors except black. I will try to confirm this via a source there.
FWIW, the J-frame pack carries the full-sized Kahr quite nicely. The frame's edges do wear on the neoprene, though not enough to tear it(so far).

It's true. You now have your choice of black, black, or black. You can, however, still find many of the older packs in stock at various dealers.

I'm vert happy with a D&S I ordered. It's very well made, uses high quality material, and the holster is full adjustable inside the pack. The holster has a wide strip of velcro swen around, once in place it doesn't move. You can use it right or left hand. D&S packs also come in a bunch of colors, try www.gungear.com/ Delivery was quick too.

So many pistols, so little money.

I have had a Blue Galco fanny pack for 6 years now. I use it every day and it is still lioke new. It WILL hold a Kimber Compact or a USP Compact without printing, and is very comfortable to wear.

Buy one and call up "The North Face" and have them send you one of their logo patches and sew it on the front so it doesn't scream CCW!!!

Being a Blackhawk distributor, I still cannot recommend the Blackhawk pack. It is blocky and ugly, and screams look at me. This is the one Blackhawk product that just simply blows chunks.

That said, I throw in my support for the Galco Escort. It is comfortable (for a fanny pack) and has plenty of room for accessories.
