What is the best concealed carry rig?

Ankle holster, preferably from Galco or Desantis.

I'm also looking into the Galco Deep Cover holster, but haven't tried it yet.

branrot,

I tried the deep cover with a G 27. You'll need to up size all you pants. Its a tough fit and seemed to print badly unless you tucked it behind your kidney, but you still need bigger pants.

Kydex IWB. :) That is how I carry. I wear amost nothing but jeans, and a t-shirt. Get the pants, and shirt a size big, though!!;)

And here it comes, the obligatory:

"It's whatever fits your needs best"

Seriously. If there was a 'best' carry rig, we'd all be carrying it.

What's my carry rig?

G29, Ashley Express tritium sights, Sidearmor IWB w/ J-hooks or Gunslinger Improved Belly Band, spare mag, ProLoad 180gr. JHP, Spyderco Calypso Jr. serrated w/ micarta handle, FoxLabs OC spray, cell phone, SureFire 6Z. ta da.

But, your mileage may vary...

Jeans and a T-shirt? Try gunslinger's Improved Belly Band, he's a TFL'er, look around here somewhere and he'll show himself.

:D

I carry my Glock 27 IWB with an unbuttoned denim shirt tossed over it all.

Gee, the last time I wore just jeans and a tee shirt I wore a Sparks WM-2 with a 5" Kimber, a Blade-Tech mag./6P carrier, both on a Wilderness instructors belt. In my left front pocket was my Spyderco endura 2 and my cell phone cliped to my left front pocket. I've been carrying for a few years now and all my pants and shirts are a size large.

Recommend contacting one of the professionals at Milt Sparks Holsters and stating your specific needs.

Expensive, because best quality costs a bit more.

Tough One

That is a tough one, I have been looking for that a # of years. lol
Still looking lol
Well, to the point.
I think it really depends what type and size handgun you are carrying and how the holster handgun combo fits your body and of course your dress.
For casual t-shirt type dress I usually use a iwb or a pancake and conceal a Beretta 92 without any real problems.
I like ted blocker and several others.
I just got a galco cop 3 slot pancake today and will try that one out and see how it works.
I prefer a thumbreak, I don;t find it takes much longer to access, but it sure makes me feel more secure.
Ya will probably be like most of us and have a few in a box somewhere that just didn't quite work out, before ya find the right one, then ya may keep looking.
I hope ya find it.

P-11 IWB with belt clip. Yesterday I carried it all day long at the County Fair and forgot that it was there half the time. Just make sure that shirt won't creep up over the weapon when you reach down to pick up a kid to lift them to your shoulder!

I have three carry guns: Glock 27, S&W 642 and KelTec PT-32. My mode of dress dictates what I carry. I carry the 27 inside the waistband, behind my kidney in a custom Kydex holtser. I generally carry the 27 when my shirt is untucked or when I am wearing a sweater or jacket.

For work I usually dress business casual -- pants with my shirt tucked in. If I am wearing pants/shorts with large enough pockets, I carry the 642 in a Uncle Mike's Size 3 pocket holster. Otherwise, I carry the PT-32 with a belt clip in my waistband or in my pocket with an Uncle Mike's Size 3 pocket holster.

I generally carry my 642 60% of the time, the 27 20% of the time and the PT-32 20% of the time. I always carry a thumb-hole opening, lockback knife with belt clip (Spyderco or Benchmade) in my waistband and an extra magazine or Bianchi Speed Strip in my other pocket.

P.S. I do not like the SmartCarry because I find it uncomfortable and slow in drawing my weapon. I used to use the SmartCarry to conceal my 642.

best carry rigs

smith model 60 mexican carry in a lightweight suede iwb holster shirt untucked ,or a smith model 60 in a bellyband.serves my needs ,I dont need all that overpriced ,plastic foreign, crap.

Hey Red, I'm with you on our model 60s but this is the semi-auto forum so while you sneak out, I'll cover you....as for mode of carry, Mexican is foreign too, so I would suggest Mississippi carry....same place as Mexican but with a piece of strraw in your mouth...
