What is LOL ?

One of those little shortcuts used by e-mailers and bbs posters I'm not privy to I guess. So what does LOL mean?
 
Here in the South it means "Lord Oh Lord"

I use it frequently myself.

It is usually used in answer to a question, that one thinks everyone should have known the answer to.

Example: Lord oh Lord Child you should have known that,haven't you been taught anything?

This is IMHO (In My Honest Opinion)

IMO = In my opinion

IMHO = In my humble opinion (usually)

IMNSHO = In my not-so-humble opinion

IRL = In real life

AFAIK = As far as I know

BTW = By the way

BOHICA = ??? (Any takers?)

IIRC = ??? (same)

Y'know, the military has so many acronyms, they even have acronyms for their acronyms: ERMA is an "Easily Recognizable Military Acronym", (CIC-Commander in Chief) and NERMA is a "Not...."(POSSLQ-Partners of Opposite Sex Sharing Living Quarters)

But my favorite is a NERCA (Not Easily Recognizable Civilian Acronym) Which goes like this: FOADTESIHOAPPWAPFAS -which translates into "Flip off and die, then eat stuff in heck on a paper plate with a plastic fork and spoon." (Or something very close to that.)
But maybe that was more than you wanted to know..... :D

Used with scanners, it stands for "Tool Without An Interesting Name." Whomever thought that up is a friggin' GENIUS!
