I saw comments in a previous thread about a new "Sports Trigger" that will be available on the P99. I got the impression that it will be a standard feature of new P99s, but I'm not sure of this. I understand that existing P99s can be retrofitted with the Sports Trigger for about $100.
The only explanation I saw was that it is "better for competitions." I'm thinking of getting a P99 or SW99, but want to know if I should wait for this. What exactly does it do? Does it change the function, lighten or smooth the trigger pull, or what?
There was also a reference to a "Quick Action" trigger option, which sounds like it just keeps the gun from being fully "de-cocked" (so you always have the 6.5 LB single-action pull). This doesn't appeal to me and sounds dangerous (for general use anyway) without a manual safety.
I'm currently considering a purchase, so any info on the Sports Trigger will be much appreciated. Thanks.
Doug
