What is a good timer,,,

I mean the hand held timers I see used to time a course of fire.

If I have this right the person hits the start button,,,
This sounds a "go" tone signaling the shooter to start.

From then on the timer records the elapsed time of every shot,,,
Giving the elapsed time from start to last shot.

Do I have that operation correct?

Anyways,,,
What are they called,,,
Where can I purchase one?

Can you recommend a good brand/model?

I thank you in advance for your replies.

I have the CED 8000.

It has a lot of features with different types of timing, but the most basic part is that after you (or another person) presses start, it waits a random amount of time, then beeps and times your shots after that. It gives you a total time and the time between each shot.

I like it a lot, but it was not cheap ($150, I think?). I got it from Brownells. No one near me had one in stock.

Thanks BikeNGun1974,,,

Using the info from your post I was able to Google around and find the model you mentioned as well as several other brand.models.

Those puppies are more expensive than I would have thought,,,
Basically at least a C-note for a base model.

Since my friends and I are just messing around simulating steel challenge with paper plates,,,
I think I'll stick with my $5.00 stopwatch for the time being.

Thanks for posting a response though,,,
I appreciate your help.
