I was just cruising the web, looking at all the gun control sites. It struck me that the pro-gun forces are facing a very, very serious threat. It isn't some bugaboo like the UN or FEMA that's out to take my guns, it's the Methodists, the Unitarians, and a lot of angry moms. I'd rather face the UN, 'cause I know damn well how powerful angry moms can be--and how effective at changing laws. This led me to wonder, WHAT IF the worst happened and the feds passed a law instructing us to turn in our handguns in six months or face felony charges. I don't think it will happen next year, but in a decade or two it might. It's already happened in the UK, Australia and a few major cities in the US. I know myself well enough to know that I would never turn my iron in. But then again I don't have a family. I would only be risking my own life. Who would back down, and who would stand firm? Should we plan for it now, or would that only help the antis label us as yahoos?
