A couple of weeks ago here in Vancouver, Canada, a 32 year old guy went to the aid of a person that he saw being assaulted by 4 people with baseball bats. For his trouble, the guy was savagely beaten to death. There is considerable outrage over this tragic event, and considerable sympathy for the Good Samaritan who died trying to help someone.
My question is: What if the GS had produced a gun, and shot one or two of the assailants when they turned on him....what would the public's attitude have been towards him THEN? I posed this question to an avid anti-gunner yesterday, and all he could do was splutter about "guns not being the answer"...
Self-defense is no defense in court in Canada.
BTW...all 4 of the assailants were apprehended, charged and are now out on bail...disturbed teens, you see....
