I knew I should have sold that 6.5 Italian ammo I had in the swap box. Well, at least I get to shoot it now.

Yup, it visited Finland for a while. Picked it up yesterday and it's in very nice condition, bore is great. It's a Fucile Corto Model 38 7.35mm, SA marked, made by RE Terni 1939 XVII.

Madcratebuilder - very nice! Looks like it is in great condition . . . hmmmm 1939 . . . used once and dropped by the Italians at the front? ;-)

Probably dropped by a Finn soldier too. From reading I see they were not very well thought of by the Finn's.

This rifle shoulders well but I find the bolt operation to be very clunky.

The bayonets cost way more than the damn rifles.

Got a chance to shoot this yesterday, not bad considering the 73 year old ammo. Did some swapping for this fodder.

A folding removable bayonet? That is NEAT! I assume it is locked when extended...because having it spring shut while you're roasting your dinner over the fire would be ANNOYING.
