What has become of the Glock42?

I like many others was put on a waiting list when the Glock 42 first came out. Many, many G42's were sold and they remain somewhat scarce. Then various forums lit up with horror stories of severe malfunctions of many G42's.Now all is quiet, are you guys hearing anything?Like to add through a lot of testing,my G42 has been 100%and is part of my EDC. :Dc

I heard they had a couple runs that came without the Koolaid, but that has been corrected and now all owners have swore off other brands!

Ive had two since about this time last summer, and no problems.

Having the 42 pretty much convinced me not to bother with the 43, and just strengthened my like of the 26's. I like the 42, but its more a range toy than anything else. I can and do carry the 26, just as easily, and with all its advantages.

Glock 42 & 43 are on my want list. And I own a few single stack 9's but for EDC
my G26 gets the call.
I have shot the G42 on a couple occasions an done well with it.

My Glock 42 runs like a Swiss (or Austrian) watch, easy to carry best ever to control recoil, totally dependable and accurate. Did i say i like it? Quit listening to the doom and gloom guys and get one for yourself.

I picked up a 42 about six months ago, and it has run perfectly. The 42 is my pocket gun of choice, and serves its purpose well.

I remember the huge rush and wait. The LGS had one to see, not available to purchase. I reminded me of the old gas station bathroom key cabled to a brake rotor or similar. You could put it in your hand, just couldn't leave with it. I bought a PPS prior to the g42 then g43.
I'd buy one but the PPS is doing the job fine.

I picked up a used one with the intention of training my wife with it. Guess what, she changed her mind about carrying.
Now I have a g42 and not much reason to have it. I'd rather carry a 9mm.

BTW, it is a really nice small gun. Stupid accurate @50'. And no, I'm not a Glock guy. Don't really care for them, but the 42 is a nice .380.

Glock 42 with a max of 100 rounds through it...

Just don't shoot it that much but so far I like it. Trigger is a little stiff out of the box.

No problems so far; waiting for the other shoe to drop.

ddc, check the back side of the mags that are original to the gun.33249(part no.)will be under "Glock". A "2"will appear under the part no.Mag would be 2nd revision.Mag revision was one of four upgrades done to early problematic G42's.The date on the fired case is very close to date of manufacture.Later is better! Also, the firing of 100rds.bodes well.Best of Luck. my G42 is smaller, lighter and has considerably less recoil than the G43, this alone is why it will remain in my house for my wife and daughter. I bought a PPS way before the G43 came out, and I've yet to find a reason to switch.

Skeets,
My mags have the "2" on them.
Date for fired case is 1/30/15.
I gotta take this little guy to the range again and make it do some work this time. :)

I have both the 42 and 43, and I really like both of them. Both have been 100% reliable so far. I mainly pocket carry my 42 during the summer months. Most of my shorts have cargo pockets, and I carry the 42 in a Galco horsehide holster.
I can tell you one thing about the 42; it will definitely surprise you. I have shot several small .380 pistols over the years, but none like the 42. The recoil was minimal for such a small gun, and I was extremely surprised at how accurately I could shoot the 42 right out of the box.

These are the first two groupings I shot with my 42 at 7 yards. I looked like this-:eek: haha

I had one round off the the left a bit on the second group.

I've had the 42 for about 5 months and it has been flawless with the regular fmj ball type ammo but I tried the highly recommended Precision One 90 grain XTP bullet and had numerous ftf and fte's. I actually took back one box that I did not use. I have continued to carry my LCP until I can find a defense round that works.
