What Happened to Henry Deringer's Company

I'm working on a TV show for History channel and I'm trying to find out what happened to Henry Deringer's company after he died in 1868. I saw that his son inherited the company but I don't know how much longer it lasted. Did it go out of business or was it bought by a competitor??????
 
The name of his company was called Deringer Rifle and Pistol Works located in Philadelphia, Pa. Should be able to find some info on Google.
 
Not all Deringer guns were derringers. Here is one.

(The yellow tinge is the picture - the gun is nickeled and 95%+ condition.)
