What frame - steel or alloy?

Hi!
I was wondering which frame material is better - steel or light alloy. For example what would you prefer - an all steel CZ 75BD Compact or steel slide/alloy frame CZ 75D Compact?
All I know is that because BD weights 920g and D - 780g, the first will probably has less felt recoil. Also I guess the alloy frame is corrosion resistant.
I will be very happy with your opinion, guys.
Thanks!

I don't have experience with CZ but have asked myself the same question when buying other guns. I am probably a minority but I always end up opting for the steel.

My logic is two fold. I believe steel helps minmize muzzle flip, making for faster target aquisition for second shot capability. Secondly, I suppose is some concern about the future. I believe aluminium or polymer frames are more likely to suffer frame failures. I like to shoot all my guns. With the anit-gun sentiment in this country and aggressive government efforts, I have some concern about what gun manufacturers may still be in business to take care of a frame that fails years up the road. So, my choice has always been steel thus far.

I don't carry for more that three or four hours at a time. I've never found myself troubled by carrying the weight of a steel frame.

Good luck with your choice

I think that for pure durability, all steel is the way to go. But I carry a lot. I appreciate the lightness of my Glocks. Also, when I was looking for a hot weather pistol, I had the option of either a Colt Mustang Pocketlite (alloy frame), or an all steel Mustang which weighed several ounces more. I chose the alloy frame simply due to it's lighter weight.
I think you should buy the one that feels best to you and fits in with your style of carry.
