What firearm is this?

I could be wrong but it looks to me like an M243.

Just my non-expert eyes here though.

EDIT: M249 SAW. Thanks to better eyes than mine I was informed of my mistake. I meant the M249 but my fingers typed M243.

Well, it ain't no M60 that's for sure. That was the only Squad Automatic Weapon when I was in. Of couse everyone else had M16A1s so they could all be used as automatic weapons.

It's an updated m249 SAW... Short-barrel and collapsible butt stock. The marines adopted some years ago (5-6 years or so). Makes the gun a lot less awkward to carry

No doubt about that. It was designed as a LMG but nowadays we use it as a squad automatic weapon (hence SAW). Yet for some reason we still get issued the stupid tripod and T&E although they never leave the arms room....

The new buttstock does wonders for shoulder fire, as employed in the video. These boys did a great job making the guns talk. Get some! :D
