Men like Dwight D. Eisenhower, Theodore Roosevelt, Charles DuGaulle (I hope I spelled it right), Winston Churchill, General Patton, Bull Halsey and the warriors of old? Have their memories and impact on the world really left us behind? Or do they sit dormant waiting for the day when the world will realize that these are the men we need more of? Men who do not run scared and WILL take the fight to the enemy no matter whether it involves guns or paperwork. Men who will not back down from someone higher than them in the chain of command or could ruin their careers to do what is right.
I'm sure you all know who Richard Marcinko is. And you all know how John Ross's book Unitended Consequences ends. Why is it that to many people the world over do not heed the advice that is given by each? Why do to many people stay reactive or complacent? I thought people had an inate and natural instinct to be proactive in our own defense. Do we? Or has it merely slipped away from us and let us as a group grow complacent and say things like "It won't happen to me" or "That only happend to bad people"?
I know most of you here are proactive in your defense and play the what-if scenarios over and over in your heads and plan accordingly. I'm not issuing a war cry or anything of the like in order to incite a rebellion or revolution. I just want someone with much more wisdom than an 18 year old can or will ever have to give me the answer. I've grown disillusioned and disenchanted by a world that refuses to protect itself.
I was always raised to fend for yourself and to always help someone and everyone you could. Your neighbors and friends were the same way. I'm scared of what this world has become.....I'm scared of the fact that someday the governments of the world will all collapse and everyone will left to their own devices. Could we, as humanity, rise up from such a collapse if it were to happen tomorrow? Or would most everyone be left walking through the ashes of what they once knew as their life? Could they rebuild the Earth and manage to remember how to fend for themselves? Would they?
I'm only but one little voice in a sea of many and can't do much on my own. But I do know that, down in my soul, that what I say is one of many thoughts and feelings you all harbor. I really can't explain my feelings towards people with no common sense and those that only watch out for themselves. All I can say is that I've noticed more and more that those are the ones put in charge of us on a daily basis. Maybe someone can do better than me in explaining this and why it is? I just don't know anymore.
Everything I have ever been taught seems to have no meaning, no reason to exist anymore. Why can't people just understand that we all have natural rights? Rights that CAN NOT be alienated and destroyed. Rights garuanteed to us just by breathing.
Is it just me or do you guys feel that this world has gone against everything you've ever been taught? I'm only 18 years old and I'm not field with the angst of my many piers who cry out such things as "The Government sucks", "F** the police", and many more things of the like. I am not one to slam what little bit of freedom I have. I am a patriot in the way that John Paul Jones was a patriot. I am a patriot in the way that Paul Revere was a patriot. I am a patriot in the way that George Washington, John Adams, Patrick Henry, Sam Adams, and Thomas Jefferson were patriots. They are all probably turning in their coffins right now as I right this. They are doing so because of a world that has turned its back on their ideals and beliefs.
Please use this thread to answer these questions: Where did the world go wrong in leaving behind humanities natural rights and those being in charge of us get the idea that they have one set of rules and those who aren't in charge have a different set? What ever happened to to an ideal called Common Sense? Where has he gone? What happened that he has chosen to leave us and go elsewhere?
These are just my collective thoughts and questions I leave to those with more wisdom than I, an 18 year old that hasn't yet lived a full life to answer these questions, to answer in such a way that all can understand.
