What Ever Happened to G-Pal/GunPal?

I'm assuming it's not good as the website appears to be off-line but the whole "situation" seems to have just vanished. I tried googling, but see virtually no mention after late 2010.

Does anybody know what went down?

Ben Cannon seems to have moved on with his life. He and his new wife are promoting a new children's book.

All the money appears to have vanished into thin air -- but the Senoma county prosecutors are not concerned about that. "Sucks to be you" I guess was the official response.

If you mean what happened back then, they had problems processing money transferees (to put it politely). People on CalGuns posted a LOT of stories about never getting their money after months and months of repeated phone calls and emails. Many of these posts mysteriously disappeared from the board. A very long and contentious thread was started on this subject at CastBoolits. It may still be there. I haven't heard much about it in quite some time.

If you mean whatever became of the company and proprietor, I don't know. I'm curious myself. My impression was that he was headed for some serious legal trouble. I spent some time searching for new posts/articles on the subject and the guy (I forget his name now) a few months ago and found nothing.

Yeah, I know what was happening (on the surface) in so far as the difficulties withdrawing funds. I just never heard if there was a positive resolution, or a resolution of any kind.

Too bad. I had high hopes for that company. I never liked the original name (and told them so) but I did hope they would be successful.

I assume there are still many folks who never got their money, and that makes an already sad story much worse than sad.:(

There was no resolution at all. The district attorney's office had one prosecutor assigned to the case (I think his name was Chapman) who just shuffled papers for a few months then quietly closed it.

There was at least one civil judgement against Gpal and Ben Cannon, but I assume it was never collected because neither have any assets.

A lot of accusations about the board owner or owners being involved with whatshisname. I just read all of that stuff a couple of months ago for the first time purely for the soap opera story line. Luckily I read fast and have a strong stomach.

Sleazy, sleazy, sleazy.
