What do you do with your unwanted bullets?

I realize that based on the title I am setting myself up for getting teased (insert "send them to me line here"). I have several hundred 8mm or .323 bullets that are lying around and I no longer own an 8mm. So what do you guys do with those old bullets or perhaps ones that your gun didn't like? I checked ebay but they don't allow reloading components to be sold anymore. I appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

Gun shows.

It's been quite a while since I've been to a gun show...they seem to be way over priced now days, both just to attend and the prices for the items at the show...but I remember trading of all kinds going on at them.

spend some time here and make yourself eligible to post in the "classifieds' section, bullets go fast usually if your price them under retail. eligible is jst 25 posts I believe.

Don't do as a friend did to me, simply putting them unmarked into containers, without caliber, weight AND most importantly type of construction. Got two containers, thought the bullets were (because of appearance) a "plated" style, but were frangible. My care in load development/first trial shooting prevented any insurmountable issues, but I will say I was very puzzled for a time.

I have melted the lead outta some unusable/unwanted bullets. If they don't have an open base I cut them with a pair of side cutters so no pressure would build up in a FMJ and popping in my melt pot (didn't wanna be PC incorrect by saying Dikes). When/if I get enough I can sell/recycle jackets as brass...

"...have several hundred 8mm or .323 bullets that are lying around..." Reason to buy a Mauser. The type of bullet and how many you have matters. Trading goods.
"...PC incorrect..." Only that if you use a 'y'. snicker.

Usually just put them in a plastic bag along with any unwanted unprimed brass and put the bag in the recycling container for pick up.

I leave unwanted stuff at our local range.
Reloading components, books, magazines (the kind you read), 'etc.
They have a table set up just for this.

Lot of local sales outlets.

the problem is shipping them is pretty costly, would need a lot of justify a $13 flat rate

Throw them out in the classifieds or make a deal with a fellow like who posted up already.

There are always folks looking to try out something or have something that is not easy to find components for. I just did a similar thing on another forum. Sold the fellow some 41 mag bullets I had no need for. His price was $30 shipping about 8 buck in the small flat rate box, and 22 bucks for over 300 bullets. I simply vacuum seals them in a bag, taped the box up real good and shipped them off.

Both of us came out ahead. He got a good deal on something he wanted and I got something for that which I had no use for, and didn't get over on the fellow in pricing. I could have made more, but figured why, it wasn't like it was going to make a house note or anything.

I don't know your age but from personal experience I would say you might want to hang on to them, they don't eat anything.

I been reloading for 46 years, bullets I don't have a use for I store them in a marked container for possible later use, as I never know when I may pick up a gun they can be used in.

Whatever you do, don't follow this advice. May as well throw them in the trash. Giving/trading stuff to someone who will use them is much better "recycling" than giving away for scrap.

I deposit mine into the Hearst of large bucks......
Naw just teasin, what the hell is unwanted bullets??
Not teasing about that ......

As long as you never have to move. Hauling around 10,000# of bullets is a pain.

You are right, but when I get ready to move I'll have a large auction, then they become someone else's pain.:D
