I don't have the story yet just pictures. However the guy in the picture is my Brother-in-law's older brother. This deer was hunted less than 10 miles from the house I grew up in out on the plains of SE Colorado. He's going to submit this one to P&Y.
Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime deer. It should score well abut not super high; it is very symmetrical and massive, just not a lot of length to the tines.
My understanding is that the trophies at Cabela's have casts of the antlers; the owner/shooter still has the original. So, maybe they would pay a decent fee to make a mold of that set. Worth checking into, anyway.
