What diversion devices available?

What "tools" are available for diversion? Currently C3 until I feel more comfortable, I'll need time - 4-5 seconds right now - to draw, rack, and bear. Assuming one or more BGs within the 21ft perimeter, I'd be late. Something that flash-bangs enough for some disorientation might help. Cherry bombs ... too small; hand grenades ... uh uh. There must be some pocket item to toss and that pops on contact - ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Umm, Andy, bub, in the time it takes you to get a flash-bang out of whereever you left it, spring the clip, pull the pin, and toss said device--

--well, you could rack the slide on two or three M1911's, one Rem 870 and a M109 howitzer.

I hate flash-bangs. I get hit with sparks, the smoke sticks in my throat and the flash and concussion hit me worse than the critters.

Practice with your pistols. The Israelis teach a nifty method for bringing a Con 3 weapon into action in one second or less.

:o :D :D :D Okay, so maybe it's a dumb idea, but it seemed plausible. Maybe flash-bang is the wrong nomenclature call - after all - I'm not a pro ... (excuses, excuses).

Maybe I've seen too many movies or TV heroes doing (obviously well-orchestrated) things to gain an advantage. But, if you have a definite time lag problem today, other than training it away in a week, month or more, what can be done? C1 and damn the torpedoes? Gotta be something out there that works ... Guys and gals, think small, fast, effective. Maybe cherry bombs after all ... hmmm?

Humbley asking - (but I enjoyed the responses ... thanks) :) :)

Big dog(s), tough locks and doors, good lighting, and perimeter security should give you enough advance warining. After that a picture of my mother in law D)

If carrying cocked and locked bothers you consider getting a S&W Model 625 .45ACP revolver. It is equally effective and all safteies are internal.

Any of the Surefire lights will totally blind someone at night. They are amazing. I have two of them. One is so bright that it will make you turn away even if your eyes are closed during the day.
